Archieratical co-liturgy for the Feast of the Founder of the Church of Cyprus

On Thursday, June 11, 2020, the feast day of Saint Barnabas the Apostle, founder and patron saint of the Church of Cyprus, Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus presided over the Archieratical Divine Liturgy at the homonymous church, concelebrated by members of the Holy Synod.

Metropolitan Georgios of Paphos and Metropolitan Timotheos of Bostra participated in the Divine Liturgy.

In his brief speech, the Archbishop prayed to the Patron Saint of the Church of Cyprus, Saint Barnabas, to put an end to the COVID-19 pandemic, which is spreading death to all over the world.

The Archbishop of Cyprus hosted a luncheon on the same day at the Holy Archdiocese that was attended by the President of Cyprus, Nikos Anastasiadis, and other state officials.

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew sent a greeting letter on the Feast of the Church of Cyprus. Addressing the Archbishop, the Ecumenical Patriarch sent his blessing to all, wishing them prosperity, stability and unity.
