“Let us not imitate the Jews, my brethren, who, because of their selfishness thinking that they were the only ones who knew the letter of the Law, did not embrace the true word of the righteousness of God. Let us open our hearts and embrace Jesus Christ, who will quench our spiritual thirst forever and offer us His inalienable peace.”

Those were the words of Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus, addressing the congregation at the celebrating Church of the Wisdom of God in Strovolos, Nicosia, where the Archbishop presided over the Vespers of the Mid-Pentecost accompanied by Bishop Grigorios of Mesaoria.

“Christ is the teacher. He who, while not getting a formal education, has all the wisdom, because it is the Wisdom of God that created the world. Therefore, he who teaches in the temple, among the teachers of the Jewish people, in the midst of the feast, is the Messiah, Christ, the Word of God. He who is condemned by the so-called wise men of His people is the Wisdom of God,” said the Archbishop of Cyprus.
