Archbishop Makarios of Australia stood by the side of those in need.

The Archbishop took part in the initiative of the Philoptochos Society of the Greek Orthodox Church of Saints Nicholas, Raphael and Irene in Liverpool, Sydney.

The Archbishop of Australia distributed love meals, along with volunteer parishioners, to those in need, always respecting the planned safety measures.

The program was launched under the blessing of Archbishop Makarios and has been embraced by the Parish in Liverpool, which is actively helping by offering food for the preparation of meals.

In addition, the initiative is backed by local authorities. As part of the Homeless Feed Program, about 40 people receive pre-packaged meals every Tuesday from the volunteers and the ladies of the Philoptochos Society of the Parish of Saints Raphael, Nicholas and Irene.

It is noted that many similar efforts are being made throughout Australia, for which the Archbishop has expressed determination and willingness to intensify and organize more initiatives in order to meet the needs of our fellow human beings in need as much as possible.

The Homeless Feed Program is aimed at all people without discrimination based on race, origin, religion, or anything else. As the Archbishop noted, “We take care of our neighbor, no matter what.”
