Archbishop of Athens assists the work of the club “Friends of the Deaf Mutes”

Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and all Greece blessed the New Year’s Vasilopita of the club Prophet Zacharias, Friends of the Deaf Mutes, in the chapel of the club in the centre of Athens.

The Archbishop wished everyone a happy new year, and expressed his particular joy and excitement for being there.

The Primate of the Church of Greece noted that, as promised, the building that can accommodate and support club members, especially the elderly, has almost been completed. He then invited club members to thing of any issues that they themselves consider to be of concern, highlighting that if a solution to those issues is found, the project will be at their disposal.

Later on, the presidents and representatives of the clubs from all over Greece wished for the new year and thanked the Archbishop for his presence and his love, emphasizing that the initiative of this Centre which will support the elderly and helpless deaf people is very important.
