Archbishop Makarios visited St Basil’s building site in Western Australia

As part of his visit to Western Australia, Archbishop Makarios of Australia visited today the site where the new St. Basil’s homes are being built to meet the needs of the elderly people in need in that area.

It should be mentioned that the foundation stone was laid by the Archbishop himself last July. This is a project that will not be community-based. Elder people who will participate in the program will receive the care they need while staying at their home. The new building will be a creative space and host gatherings of elder people during the day. It will also cover the administrative needs of coordination.

Work is progressing very quickly and the opening of buildings is expected to take place on Easter 2020. It should be noted that the Archbishop has already initiated the process of building two more St Basil’s buildings in Sydney and Melbourne.
