Archbishop Makarios of Australia attended yesterday the formal function held at the Grand Hall of St Andrew’s College of the Archdiocese, whereby the Primate of the Greek Orthodox Church of Australia, blessed the table in honour of Fr Themi, a pioneer missionary at Sierra Leone.

During the event a special DVD presentation was made by Fr Themi explaining the work he has been undertaking over the years in saving the lives of kids, especially orphans, helping them with their education, clean water, food and accommodation in an effort to subdue the unspeakable disaster of poverty and the Ebola epidemic.

The Hall was filled with people from all over Sydney, who generously donated the sum of $65,000 in aid of Fr Themi’s work in Sierra Leone.
