The Autocephalous Church of Ukraine is planning the ordination of an eminent cleric and preacher from a major Metropolis of the Church of Greece, which is yet to be known.
According to exclusive information from Romfea.gr, the election of the Greek Archimandrite will take place on Friday, May 24.
This cleric appears to serve as mediator between the Phanar and Kiev.
Notable persons from the Ecumenical Patriarchate are expected to attend the ordination rite, which will take place on Saturday, May 25.
Moreover, the consolidation of the relations with Constantinople is reportedly on the agenda of Metropolitan Epiphanius while he has put the election of more Greek Bishops on the table.
Initially, this will lead to further frictions with the Patriarchate of Moscow or some internal reactions in Ukraine.
However, it may can act as a catalyst both to promote closer relations with all Greek-speaking Patriarchates and Churches and to confer a ecumenical status to the newly established Church of Ukraine.
