Patriarch Ilia of Georgia expressed in a letter his gratitude to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew for the strong support he has given to the Church of Georgia.
On the occasion of the Ecumenical Patriarch’s birthday on the 29th of February, the Patriarch of Georgia sent a letter to Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in which he expressed his best wishes and highlighted the important contribution of the Ecumenical Patriarchate to the establishment of the Church of Georgia. Patriarch Ilia of Georgia further emphasised that the Ecumenical Patriarch had to overcome many difficulties and challenges, which he had addressed with success throughout his glorious course as Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople. Finally, he wished the Ecumenical Patriarch every success in his long-lasting pastoral work and peace within the Orthodox Church.
