The citizens of the country want Metropolitan Epifaniy of Kyiv and all Ukraine as the primate of a single Church in Ukraine.
This was stated in a poll conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS) which posed the question “Who would you like to see as the Primate of the united Orthodox Church in the event of the unification of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate)?”
25.6% of respondents chose Metropolitan Epifaniy, while 12.2% chose Metropolitan Onufriy.
1.2% wanted another person, 54.9% found it difficult to answer, while 6.2% refused to answer.
In a percentage of those who expressed a choice, 65.7% chose Metropolitan Epifaniy as the primate, while 31.4% chose Metropolitan Onufriy.
