Ukrainian issue is not on the agenda of the Holy Synod

The Holy Synod of the Hierarchy of the Church of Greece will meet on October 8-11, 2019, presided by Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece.

According to Romfea.gr exclusive information on the agenda of the Hierarchy, the Ukrainian issue is not included.

In particular, during the working sessions, Metropolitan Gabriel of Nea Ionia and Philadelphia will speak on “Demographic Decline as a Major National Problem.”

Metropolitan Makarios of Sidirokastron will also deliver a speech on the genocide of contemporary Greeks and the problems created, such as working conditions (youth unemployment), absence of the possibility to create new families, dissolution of contemporary society’s moral fabric, single parent families, same-sex couples.

On Thursday, October 10, Metropolitan Maximos of Ioannina will speak on “The consequences of Digital Technology and More Generally Technology in the Role and Mission of the Church.”

On the same day Metropolitan Nicholas of Mesogaia will speak on “The Challenges of Artificial Intelligence.”

According to Romfea.gr information, the last day of the meeting will be of interest, because there will be discussion on the filling of vacant posts of Assistant Bishops and any vacant posts in Holy Metropolises.
