A total of 18 clergymen in Moscow have tested positive for Covid-19, according to a statement issued by the working group of action coordination in the context of a pandemic of the Patriarchate of Moscow.

Also, 21 more clergymen have similar symptoms to those caused by the new coronavirus disease, but so far it has not been confirmed whether they have been ill.
In early April, the Russian Orthodox Church decided to conduct diagnostic coronavirus tests in all the monasteries in the Russian capital. On April 9, it was announced that eight clergymen in Moscow had been diagnosed with coronavirus disease.
On April 12, the Russian Orthodox Church ordered all monasteries and churches in Moscow and its environs to hold the services without the presence of believers, according to instructions from the chief medical officer of Moscow, Elena Andreeva.
The services will be transmitted over the internet.
