The residence of Patriarch Bartholomew has been target for burglars

Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew

The home of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew became the target of a burglary last Saturday.

The Patriarchal residency is located in the neighborhood of Tarabya, in a very well kept area. According to information from the Phanar, three masked men broke into the house of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew last Saturday while the housekeeper was inside the house, who became aware of the burglars. Police were alerted immediately and a patrol rushed to the spot and launched investigations into the detection and arrest of the burglars. However, this burglary raises questions.

Reports from the Greek newspaper “Anatoli” say the robbery took place at the time of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew attending a social event on Saturday afternoon in the centre of Constantinople. As the closed-circuit cameras recorded, three masked men broke into the house while inside it was the housekeeper, who noticed the burglars.
