In a catanyctic climate and according to the Holy Mount Athos’ Ritual, the established procession of the icon of “Axion Estin” in Karyes took place on Easter Monday, in the presence of the civil administrator of Mount Athos, Konstantinos Dimtsas.
Metropolitan Pavlos of Drama officiated at the Divine Liturgy, which was performed by the fathers of Karyes, according to the traditions.
The procession of the icon of “Axion Estin” in Karyes and the surrounding area lasted six hours.
The holy icon was accompanied by the Holy Epistasis of Mount Athos, Proto-epistatis Elder Stephanos Hieromonk of Hilandar Monastery, and the Epistates Elder Paul, Hieromonk of Xeropotamos and Elder Nicodemus of Saint Paul, the civil administrator of Mount Athos and a multitude of Orthodox believers from various countries.
