The Patriarch of Alexandria visited the Foreign Minister of Egypt

Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa, accompanied by Metropolitan Nicodimos of Memphis and Patriarchal Commissioner of Cairo, was warmly welcomed by Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on May 14.

During the meeting, which was held in a friendly atmosphere, the Patriarch gave his best wishes the Minister in the view of the Ramadan Feast.

The Patriarch briefed the Minister on the important social, charitable and spiritual work of the Patriarchate of Alexandria in Egypt and throughout Africa, as well as on the upcoming trip to Tanzania.

The Patriarch urged Sameh Shoukry to send his gratitude to President of Egypt Abdel Fattah Saeed Hussein Khalil El-Sisi, stressing that we must all make a robust and substantial contribution to achieving peaceful coexistence of peoples and cultures in the peaceful Mediterranean.

They then discussed the protection of property titles of the Patriarchate’s properties.

It should be noted that a special reference was made to the bill on the Christian Family Law to be voted by the House of Representatives.

The Minister then welcomed Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria, expressing his appreciation, and adding that the government’s support for the work of the Alexandrian Church would continue.
