The Parliament’s plenary debate will conclude with the vote for the Prespes Agreement late this evening

The Parliament’s plenary debate on the Prespes Agreement continues with great interest for a second day. After the end of the PM’s and leaders’ speeches, a vote will be held in Parliament.

Today’s debate is expected to be a marathon, given that there are 140 MPs to speak. Early report suggests that the vote will be held early in the morning of Friday.

The approval of the Prespes Agreement should be considered a given as the government has ensured the necessary support needed for the agreement to pass, although the SYRIZA parliamentary group “counts” 145 MPs.

The remaining votes will come from E. Kountoura and Th. Papachristopoulos from ANEL (Independent Greeks) party, St. Theodorakis, G. Mavrotas and Sp. Lykoudis from To Potami (The River) party, Sp. Danellis, a former member of To Potami, and Th. Theocharopoulos of DIMAR (Democratic Left) party.
