The new Civil Governor of Mount Athos at the Ecumenical Patriarch

Today, Thursday, September 5, the Archon of the Holy Church of Christ, Athanasios Martinos, recently appointed as the new Civil Governor of Mount Athos, visited the Seat of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.

The new Civil Governor paid his respects to the Ecumenical Patriarch and Bishop of Mount Athos and asked for his patriarchal blessing on the occasion of his new multifaceted duties.

The Ecumenical Patriarch, who will visit Mount Athos from October 19 to October 22, wished the new Civil Governor a fruitful service as a spokesman for the Greek State at Mount Athos.

During his meeting with Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Mr. Martin was accompanied by his wife Marina, Dr. George Penellis, Emeritus Professor, and his wife, as well as Dr. Gregory Penellis.
