The Greek Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs met with the US ambassador

US Ambassador Goeffrey Pyatt met yesterday Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kostas Vlasis.

Talks revolved around topical issues of mutual interest between Greece and the US.

Ambassador Pyatt initially congratulated the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for his duties and stressed the importance the US attach to Greece’s involvement in the US-led initiative “Religious Freedom Alliance”.

He also made positive comments on the Deputy Foreign Minister’s speech on the promotion of the English-language programs of the Greek universities at the Foreign Ministry’s “Building International Bridges: Opening Greek Universities to the World” event.

Referring to the excellent level of Greek-American relations, Mr. Vlasis referred to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ highly successful visit to the US and the letter of support from US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. He also briefed his interlocutor on his forthcoming trip to Washington and New York in early February, where he will attend a dinner for Religious Freedom and meet with Diaspora institutions.
