The Bishop of Melitene in the Monastery of Panagia Pelekiti

Bishop Maximos of Melitene visited his hometown for a few days, where he officiated at the Feast of Dormition and Assumption of the Most Holy Theotokos, at the Holy Monastery of Panagia Pelekiti of Agrafa, at the invitation of the Holy Monastery and the blessing of Metropolitan Timotheos of Thessaliotis and Fanariofersala.

The Bishop was welcomed by the Abbot of the Monastery and Protosyncellus of the Metropolis, Archimandrite Amfilochios Papandreou, with his entourage.

The Bishop of Melitene expressed his thanks to the Metropolitan of Thessaliotis and to the fraternity for the hospitality and love.

Two days ago, he had officiated at the Feast of the Translation of the Relics of Saint Maximus the Confessor, in the homonymous temple of the village of Agios Akakios of Karditsa (birthplace of St. Akakios of Kavsokalyvia), where his father, Presbyter Georgios Pafilis, ministers. This church was rebuilt by Bishop Maximos and his father twenty years ago.
