On Thursday, May 30, 2019, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Chalkida welcomed the newly elected Archbishop of America, Elpidophoros, at the Holy Monastery of Saint David the Elder, and concelebrated with him.
Shortly before the Dismissal (apolysis) of the Divine Liturgy, the Metropolitan welcomed the Archbishop of America, congratulated him on his election and praised his endowments, which he has dedicated to the Mother Church and the ministry of God and people.
Subsequently, the Archbishop of America, addressing the Metropolitan, thanked him for his good words and hospitality and publicly confessed his acquaintance and his spiritual relationship with Saint Iakovos of Euboea and his desire to celebrate his first Divine Liturgy as Archbishop of America, at the Monastery of Saints David and Iakovos, and, before leaving for America, to worship the tomb of St. Iakovos in order to receive blessing and strength in his new ministry.
