The Anglican Bishop of Gibraltar in the Metropolis of Corfu

Metropolitan Nektarios of Corfu, Paxoi and the Diapontian Islands was visited on Thursday, February 20, 2020, by Bishop Robert of Gibraltar in Europe of the Church of England.

Bishop Robert expressed his heartfelt thanks to the Metropolitan of Corfu for the Orthodox Church treats the Anglicans living on the island with kindness and has good relations with them, while stressing that the Anglican Church is seeking through ecumenical dialogue to cooperate with other Christian doctrines to tackle Europe’s social and environmental problems.

After welcoming the Anglican bishop, Metropolitan Nektarios emphasized that Orthodoxy knows what separates it from other doctrines, but believes in a dialogue of hearts and love, and emphasized that in Corfu you see that much cooperation because many mixed marriages require the support of their family by all Christian doctrines. The Metropolitan of Corfu pointed out to Bishop Robert that times need truth and humility to bring Christians closer! Metropolitan Nektarios offered him the publications of the Holy Metropolis of Corfu and wished that the prayer of the Orthodox tradition “in favor of unity for all” to be fulfilled.
