Saint George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Beirut was seriously damaged by the massive explosion that occurred yesterday in Beirut.
Patriarch John of Antioch contacted Metropolitan Elias of Beirut to learn about the catastrophic explosion that struck the Lebanese capital, as well as the damage suffered by the people of Beirut, the Archdiocese of Beirut, churches and institutions. Patriarch John wished for the speedy recovery of the injured, the repose of the victims and the consolation from above to the victims’ relatives.
