Serbian Bishop Lukijan of Buda presided over Eucharistic gathering in Pecs, Hungary

On 31st May 2020, on the Sunday of the Holy Fathers of the First Ecumenical Council, Bishop Lukijan of Buda officiated the Holy Hierarchal Liturgy in the Pecs Cathedral of Saints Andronicus and Junia, the enlighteners of Pannonia, on the occasion of the celebration of the patron saint of the Cathedral.

The Holy Hierarchal Liturgy was concelebrated by Hieromonk Varnava Knezevic, parish priest of Pecs, Protodeacon Milan Eric, Protodeacon  Andras Strijk and Deacon Stefan Milisavic.

The Serbian Bishop Lukijan greeted the congregation and spoke about the institution of an Ecumenical Council, emphasizing the special importance of the First Ecumenical Council during the reign of Emperor Constantine the Great, in 325 in Nicaea.

At the end of the Holy Liturgy, Bishop Lukijan blessed the gifts and congratulated the congregation of Pecs, talking about the relatives of the Apostles Paul, Andronicus and Junia, great early Christian missionaries in Pannonia to whom the new Serbian church in Pecs is dedicated.
