Renewal of Cooperation Agreement between the Association of Pharmaceutical Industries and the Archdiocese of Athens

Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and all Greece spoke of the Cooperation Agreement between the General Charity Fund of the Holy Archdiocese of Athens and the Panhellenic Association of Pharmaceutical Industries, in order to distribute free medicine to our fellow human beings, who come from underprivileged backgrounds. The Archibishop deemed that initiative a true act of love.

The renewal of the Cooperation Agreement was signed by Archibishop Ieronymos, who is also the President of the General Charity Fund of the Holy Archdiocese, and the President of the Association, Theodoros Tryfon.  The Minister for Health, Vassilis Kikilias, Metropolitan Symeon of Fthiotida, the Protosyncellus of the Archdiocese of Athens, Archimandrite Varnavas Theocharis, the Director-General of the Charity Fund, Protopresbyterian Vasilios Chavatzas, and members of the Board of Directors of the Association also attended the event.

Archbishop Ieronymos said that it was a comforting and moving event and stressed, “We will renew this Cooperation Agreement, in order to be able to offer as much as we can with love.” He also thanked the Association for their contribution and said, “We live in a difficult era. Help our fellow human beings, who need medicine, is the least we can do.”

The Minister of Health congratulated the Archibishop on his efforts and his affection for our fellow human beings, who are hit by the economic crisis over the last years. He also spoke of the important social services provided by the Church and thanked the Association of Pharmaceutical Industries for their initiative. Finally, he wished that others would do the same in the future as well.
