Patriarch Irinej of Serbia received in audience the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to Montenegro, Vladimir Bozovic, at the seat of the Patriarchate of Serbia in Belgrade on December 25, 2019.

Ambassador Bozovic thanked the Patriarch for a reception during which they discussed some ongoing problems facing the dioceses of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Montenegro. The Patriarch is deeply disturbed by current developments concerning the draft Law on Freedom of Religions or Beliefs and the Legal Status of Religious Communities, and he fervently prays to the Lord of peace for peace in Montenegro and harmony between state authorities and Church dignitaries for the benefit of all peoples, regardless of religion or nationality in that country.
