Patriarch of Serbia received representatives of Movement for Defense of Kosovo and Metohija

Patriarch Irinej of Serbia received representatives of the Movement for the Defense of Kosovo and Metohija at the Patriarchate of Serbia in Belgrade on August 7, 2020.

The representatives of the Movement for the Defense of Kosovo and Metohija presented their programme and activities to Patriarch Irinej of Serbia in order to keep the southern Serbian province of Kosovo and Metohija a part of the Republic of Serbia. They thanked the Serbian Patriarch for the firm determination of the Serbian Orthodox Church on all issues related to the status of this southern Serbian province, as well as to the existence of the Serbian Orthodox people and their shrines in that province.

Patriarch Irinej of Serbia pointed out to the representatives of this Movement that all the social and political factors should be united and unanimous when in defending Serbian national interests.

The reception was attended by General Bozidar Delic; Professor Dr. Slobodan Samardzic; Professor Dr. Bogoljub Sijakovic, Professor Dr. Aleksandar Lipkovski, Professor Dr. Slobodan Antonic, Professor Dr. Caslav Koprivica, Professor Milos Kovic and Deacon Dr. Aleksandar Prascevic, head of the Office of the Serbian Patriarch.
