Patriarch of Alexandria wishes the Egyptian President on the Feast of the Sacrifice

Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria and All Africa sent greetings to Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi on the occasion of the Feast of the Sacrifice (Eid al-Adha), the second and most important of two Islamic Holidays celebrated worldwide each year, wishing the Egyptian leader “Have a blessed Feast day (Eid Mubarak-Happy Festival!)

The news come from Egypt’s high-profile “Al Ahram” newspaper in its Arabic-language online edition, read by millions of Arabic-speakers around the world.

Under the heading “Patriarch Theodore congratulates President el-Sisi, the Grand Imam of El Azhar on the Feast of Sacrifice”, the Egyptian newspaper reports the congratulations of the Greek Orthodox Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria and All Africa to the Egyptian leader Abdel Fattah el-Sisi.

Furthermore, the Alexandrian Primate congratulates the Grand Imam of El Azhar Dr. Ahmed El Tayeb and the Grand Mufti of Egypt Dr. Sauki Alam as well as all Muslims, appealing to God to protect Egypt, its leadership, military, police and people.

The reporting concludes with the Alexandrian Primate’s wish, that this Muslim Feast will always strengthen the brotherhood between Christians and Muslims. And may the beloved Egypt but also the whole world, as Patriarch Theodore points out, be blessed with love, peace and safety.
