Patriarch of Alexandria: The Resurrection of the Lord is the response to everyday problems

Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria

The Resurrection of the Lord is described as the response to everyday problems of the time, in the paschal message of Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa.

“Pascha is unique, dynamic. Mourning and lamentation give in to the splendor of the divine Holy Fire and the triumph of the life giving Resurrection,” he stresses in his message, making references to people’s deadlocks in everyday life today, such as the economic crisis, insecurity, wars, disasters, etc.

“In the midst of the thick gloom brought by human passions, the bright light of the resurrection of the Savior is lit,” Theodore highlights.

He also adds that for Orthodoxy, every person is a unique personality, a picture of God, regardless of colour, language, religion and cultural backgrounds.
