Patriarch of Alexandria: Greece can resurrect though blood, nails and Golgotha

Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria sent from Egypt the message that “Greece knows how to resurrect” through difficulties.

The Primate of the Orthodox Church of Africa, carrying on his shoulders the Crucified Jesus, through the emblematic church of Egyptian Greek expats, spoke of the Golgotha and the Resurrection of Greece.

“Our Greece, this blessed country, shall walk its way of the Cross. However, Greece shall also be encouraged, because it celebrates the Easter of optimism”, emphasized during the Passion Liturgy, on Good Thursday, the Primate of the missionary Patriarchate.

Patriarch Theodore continued as follows: “Greece counts its wounds, it sees the hands of our Lord and the lance piercing his side, and through blood, nails, Golgotha, but none the less is able to resurrect. Greece suffers, takes courage and moves on”.

At the same time, Patriarch Theodore referred to Cyprus issue, characterizing as “Pontius Pilate” all those who realize the many aspects of the issue but instead of providing a solution, “wash their hands of”.
