Patriarch of Alexandria celebrated his 30th episcopal consecration anniversary

Thirty years have passed since the episcopal consecration of Patriarch Theodore of Alexandria when he was elected Metropolitan of Cyrene.

After thirty years of humility and courage, following in the footsteps of God, Patriarch Theodore ascended the throne of the Apostle Mark and remained a tireless defender of Orthodoxy and the peoples of Africa.

After the Divine Liturgy held at the Monastery of Saint Savvas in Alexandria on Sunday, June 14, 2020, Patriarch Theodore honored the journalist Katia Tsimplaki, communications manager of the Greek Community of Cairo and editor-in-chief of the newspaper “Neo Fos,” for promoting the Patriarchate of Alexandria around the world.

Metropolitan Narcissus of Naucratis, Bishop Germanos of Tamiathus, and the Chief Secretary of the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Alexandria, Archimandrite NikodimosTotkas, attended the award ceremony.

Patriarch Theodore offered Katia Tsimplaki a copy of the icon of Saints Helen and Constantine for her work in promoting the opening of the Church of Saints Helen and Constantine around the world. On her part, Tsimplaki presented the Patriarch of Alexandria with a copy of the official video of the opening, and portraits and photographs of the Patriarch.
