Patriarch Kirill: We can build three churches a day

The primate of the Russian Orthodox Church consecrated the Orthodox Church of All Saints in Strasbourg, and participated in the opening of the temple on Saturday.

Addressing the faithful who attended the Divine Liturgy, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and all Rus’ said that the Russian Orthodox Church could built three churches a day.

“Today we can build, in average, three churches a day within 24 hours, if I am not mistaken. We have built thirty thousand temples within ten years,” Patriarch Kirill said while explaining that “this is not because we have a lot of money and we do not know how to spend it. Our people, who have been through many years of atheism, understood very well that nothing is done without God.”

Patriarch Kirill pointed out that “in our technologically advanced civilization, we need thoses areas in which everyone could feel the presence of God.”

The construction of the Orthodox Church of All Saints began in Strasbourg in 2013. It has a capacity of 300 people and its height together with the cross is 41 meters. The site in which the temple was constructed was granted to the Russian Orthodox community for use for 99 years. Donations were the source for the construction of the temple.
