Patriarch John of Antioch

“The people of Syria is longing for peace to prevail in their country, despite their pain and suffering, as they are shaking the dust of wars, terrorism and extremism,” Patriarch John of Antioch stressed out.

Patriarch John and Patriarch Irenej of Serbia joined an Iftar meal for the Ramadan on the occasion of the latter’s visit to Syria.

“I ask Patriarch Irinej to pass the love of the Syrian people to the Serbian people and to pray for peace in Syria and for the good of all East,” Patriarch John noted.

On his part, Syria’s Grand Mufti Ahmad Badreddin Hassoun said that “Syria will stay strong and unbroken in front of its enemies thanks to the Syrian people’s cohesion and unity in defense of their country, the land of peace and amity.”

Finally, Patriarch Irenej voiced solidarity and his love to the Syrian people, stressing that he was appalled by what he saw during these days.
