A quarantine was re-introduced in the Moscow Spiritual Academy on September 3, the academy said on its website on Friday.

The decision was made after the academy’s rector, Bishop Feodorit of Zvenigorod, who was appointed to this post by the Synod last week, was diagnosed with coronavirus.

“The disease is in a light form, the rector feels well,” the report said.

At the same time, the rector has decided to self-isolate in a hospital outside the academy in order not to put students and faculty at risk.

No students, staff members or faculty members have been diagnosed with coronavirus except for the rector. Classes continue in full remotely.

All students and employees of the academy are expected to be tested for coronavirus in the near future. If the results are good, the quarantine will be lifted.

A quarantine was imposed ion the academy in spring when a coronavirus hotspot was found there.
