New Çavuşoğlu challenge in the name of the “oppressed Turkish minority” in Thrace

from twitter

The provocative rhetoric about the “oppressed Turkish minority” in Thrace was reiterated by Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu in front of the pseudo-muftis of Xanthi and Komotini.

“We will continue to protect the rights of the Muslim Turkish minority in Greece, which derive from the Treaties of Athens and Lausanne.

We reiterated our support to the mufti of Komotini Ibrahim Serif and the mufti of Xanthi Ahmet Mete who do not bend in the face of oppression,” Turkish diplomat chief wrote on twitter “forgetting”apparently that the Treaty of Lausanne refers to the existence of a Muslim and not a Turkish minority.

The meeting of the Turkish Foreign Minister with the two pseudo-muftis took place at his headquarters, in the presence of the President of the Religious Affairs Office of Turkey, Professor Ali Erbas, and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yavuz Selim Kiran.

It is recalled that Turkey has been trying in recent years to equate the election of the Ecumenical Patriarch with that of the Muftis of Thrace.
