Nea Ionia honours the Patron Saint George of Neopolis

The Holy Metropolis of Nea Ionia and Philadelphia commemorates today the Patron Saint and Hieromartyr George of Neopolis (Asia Minor). His relics lie in repose at the Church of Saint Efstathios in Nea Ionia.

On the day of the Feast of Saint and Hieromartyr George of Neopolis, Sunday, November 3, 2019, Metropolitan Symeon of Fthiotida presided over the Polyarchieratic Co-liturgy with Metropolitans Ieronymos of Kalavryta and Aigialeia, Gabriel of Nea Ionia and Philadelphia, and Makarios of Aneon.

In his brief address, Metropolitan Gabriel thanked the two newly-elected Metropolitans, who attended the Divine Liturgy, and then praised Metropolitan Symeon of Fthiotida.

In the evening, Metropolitan Gabriel will preside over the Vespers Service and then the procession of the holy relics of Saint George of Neopolis will take place.
