Name-day of Bishop Emilianos of Meloa

On Saturday, 8 August 2020, the day that our Church commemorates the memory of St Emilian the Confessor, Bishop of Cyzikos, the Chancellor of Archdiocese of Australia, Bishop Emilianos of Meloa, celebrates his name-day.

On Saturday morning at 7:30 am, Bishop Emilianos will officiate at the Service of Matins and preside at the Divine Liturgy at the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of the Annunciation of the Theotokos at Redfern, Sydney (242 Cleveland St).

On the eve of the feast, Friday 7 August at 6 pm, Bishop Emilianos will officiate at Vespers and conduct the Holy Paraklisis (Canon of Supplication) to the All-Holy Theotokos at the Parish of the Resurrection of Christ, our Lady of Myrtles, and St Elessa at the suburb of Kogarah (16-20 Belgrave St).

A talk by the Bishop will follow on the meaning of Nepsis. Due to the restriction of numbers in accordance with the guidelines for the prevention of the spread of the pandemic, it is requested that those who wish to attend, register their participation.
