On Monday, April 1st, Metropolitan Panteleimon of Veria, Naoussa and Campania celebrated a Divine Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts and preached the divine word to the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary in Naoussa for the feast of Saint Neomartyr Argyri.

During the Divine Liturgy, people could make a pilgrimage to a piece of relic of Saint Argyri.

In his speech, Panteleimon referred to Agia Argyri, stressing that the brave woman also deserves this crown of honor and glory for her valour.

“And such a valorous and courageous woman we honour today, bearing in mind the memory of the saint neomartyr Argyri. For there is no greater proof of courage and bravery than that shown by the most holy martyrs, men and women, who have courageously cherished their faith in Christ, while knowing what the consequences of this confession would be,” he said.
