Metropolitan of France will not be a candidate for the Archdiocese of America

Metropolitan Emmanuel of France is no longer among the candidates for the Archdiocese of America.

Until recently, Metropolitan Emmanuel figured in the list of the candidates for the Throne of the Archdiocese of America, along with Metropolitan Elpidoforos of Prousa.

However, according to the National Herald, Emmanuel himself is said to have informed Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew that he is not interested in such a position.

It should be reminded that on Saturday, February 19, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, from St. George’s Patriarchal Church, announced that after Easter, the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate shall proceed to elect the new Primates of the Archdiocese of America, Great Britain and Australia.

The next assembly of the Synod is scheduled for May 9-11.
