Metropolitan of Belgium: Pupils’ faces bring joy and hope to our Greek community

Metropolitan Athenagoras of Belgium

The sanctification for the beginning of the new school year at the Kestekidion Greek School in Brussels was celebrated by Metropolitan Athenagoras of Belgium and Exarch of the Netherlands and Luxembourg, on Wednesday morning, September 18, 2019.

Metropolitan Athenagoras, after the celebration of the Sanctification, wished the pupils of both Primary and Secondary education, good progress, enlightenment and divine wisdom, and the educators to have the strength to carry out the great work they perform for the Greek community of Brussels.

At the same time, he urged the attending parents to pass to their children the principles and values of the Greek Orthodox culture, which will be reinforced both by school and by their participation in the liturgical life of the Church.

In the end, he addressed an invitation to everyone to actively participate in the reception of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew in Brussels, in November, as part of the celebrations of the Golden Jubilee of the Metropolis of Belgium.
