Metropolitan of Austria goes to Budapest for the Feast of the Epiphany

Metropolitan Arsenios of Austria and Exarch of Hungary and Mid-Europe visited on the weekend of 18 and 19 January the Exarchate of Hungary, the area near Lake Balaton and Budapest.

On Saturday, he presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Roman Catholic Church at Keszthely, concelebrated by Bishop Paisios of Apamea.

The Blessing of the Waters followed at Lake Balaton, in the presence of the Mayor of the district, Mr Ferenc Ruzsics. At the end of the service, the Metropolitan thanked the flock that participated in the very old tradition of the Great Blessing of the Waters.

On Sunday, Metropolitan Arsenios of Austria and Exarch of Hungary and Mid-Europe officiated at the Divine Liturgy in the Chapel of the Wisdom of God, which is located in the new building complex of the Exarchate of Budapest.

In his sermon, the Metropolitan referred to the importance of the Feast of the Epiphany, but also to the invitation that our Lord directs us through Epiphany to embrace illumination.
