Metropolitan Ioannis of Zambia held a private meeting with the President of the Republic of Zambia, Edgar Lungu.
The meeting was held in a warm atmosphere.
The Metropolitan briefed the president on the ongoing work carried out by the Patriarchate of Alexandria through Africa, on the forthcoming pastoral visit of Patriarch Theodore II of Alexandria and All Africa to Zambia in February 2020, and on the initiatives taken by the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy and the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) mainly during this year which is dedicated to the refugees.
After being briefed on the work of the Holy Metropolis in Zambia, the president said that he was looking forward to welcoming the Patriarch of Alexandria to Zambia.
