US Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, William Taylor, held a meeting with the primate of the Autocephalous Church of Ukraine, Metropolitan Epiphanius.
Metropolitan Epiphanius congratulated him on his return to Ukraine and on the US Independence day.
During the meeting, Metropolitan Epiphanius and William Taylor discussed issues related to religious life in Ukraine.
They also exchanged views on the process of shaping the local Orthodox Church of Ukraine, its recognition, as well as related challenges.
Finally, the Deputy Chairperson of the Department for External Church Relations, Archbishop Yevstratiy (Zorya), and associates of the Embassy also attended the meeting.
