Message of support from the Archbishop of Albania to the Patriarch of Antioch

A message of support to the Patriarch of Antioch and the Archbishop of Beirut was sent by Archbishop Anastasios of Albania after the explosion that left behind dozens of dead and many injured.

In his letter to Patriarch John of Antioch Archbishop Anastasios mentions that “we participate with the deepest sorrow in the enormous grief of the Lebanese people for the recent catastrophic explosion in the country’s capital. We pray to the Lord to rest the souls of the innocent victims, to comfort the beloved inhabitants of Beirut and to enlighten those responsible for the proper response to the consequences of this tragic disaster.”

Addressing Archbishop Elias of Beirut, Archbishop Anastasios expressed his sorrow for the incident, wishing God to rest the souls of the innocent victims and to “direct your thoughts and actions to comfort and strengthen the suffering people of Beirut.”
