Memory of Prophet Samuel

© oca.org

The Orthodox Church commemorates today the Prophet Samuel.

The prophet Samuel was the last of the Judges of Israel and the one who anointed Saul and then David as kings.
He was descended from the Tribe of Levi and was born miraculously since his parents Elkanah and Hannah were childless. He served God and His people for forty years and died really old, in deep anticipation of the coming of the Messiah.

The renowned Saints of the Church give to every well-meaning person their own “seal” of the living experience of the holy Gospel, which is great support for every believer who faces the various difficulties and trials of life.
