Meeting of Archbishop of Australia with Consul General of Greece in Sydney

The Consul General of Greece in Sydney, Christos Karras, was welcomed on Monday, the 31st of August, by Archbishop Makarios of Australia at the headquarters of the Holy Archdiocese in Redfern, Sydney.

The Protosyncellus of the Holy Archdiocese, Bishop Aimilianos of Meloi, also attended the meeting on the cooperation and coordination of the joint actions and events, in the context of the celebrations for the 200th Anniversary of the Greek War of Independence.

The meeting was constructive and cordial; Ideas and proposals have been discussed about the final programme for the celebrations of the anniversary which will be attended by the National Committee of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia.

In addition, issues of common interest were discussed, focusing on the needs of the Greek Diaspora.
