On Wednesday morning, October 16, the Lebanese Minister of National Defence, Elias Bou Saab, who is on a two-day official visit to Cyprus at the invitation of his Cypriot counterpart Savvas Aggelidis, held a meeting with Archbishop Chrysostomos of Cyprus.

The Archbishop welcomed the minister of Defence saying that the neighbouring country of Lebanon is a sister country to Cyprus.

In his reply, the minister emphasised that the dynamic presence of Archbishop Chrysostomos is the element that makes the voice of the Church of Cyprus even stronger nowadays so that other local Churches were encouraged to continue to carry out their work.

Archbishop Chrysostomos offered a holy icon of the founders of the Church of Cyprus, Apostles Paul and Barnabas, to Elias Bou Saab, who is Orthodox Christian.

Following the meeting with the Lebanese Defence Minister, the Archbishop held a meeting with a group of 80 people from Milan led by the Archbishop of Milan, Mario Enrico Delpini, and the Archbishop of the Maronite Archdiocese of Cyprus, Youssef Soueif.
