Interdisciplinary conference on 200th anniversary of Greek Revolution (1821-2021)

The Holy Synod of the Church of Greece announced that the 8th International Scientific Conference, which is part of the ten scientific conferences for the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution (1821-2021), will take place on October 18-19, 2019.

The central theme of the conference is titled “The great figures of the Greek Revolution: Unity and disunity in the Greek Revolution.” Experts and researchers will give relevant presentations.

Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and All Greece will open the conference on Friday, October 18, at 5 p.m., at headquarters of the Holy Synod (Iasiou 1).

The papers of the previous seven international scientific conferences have already been published in volumes by the Archontariki Publishing House.

The Special Synodical Committee for Cultural Identity is chaired by Metropolitan Ignatios of Demetrias and Almyros. The Scientific Committee is chaired by the Protopresbyterian, Father Georgios Metallinos, Emeritus Professor of the University of Athens.
