Metropolitan Ambrosius of Dorostol of the Bulgarian Patriarchate passed away today.
The official announcement of the Patriarchate of Bulgaria does not mention the cause of his death, but according to Bulgarian media, Metropolitan Ambrosius of Dorostol contracted the coronavirus. At the same time, he had an underlying cardiovascular disease and was hospitalised since the beginning of August.
The Synod of the Bulgarian Patriarchate is expected to convene an extraordinary meeting in order to set the day of his burial.
