Greek Deputy Foreign Minister sent message of support to Greek diaspora in Egypt

The Deputy Foreign Minister for Diaspora Greeks, Kostas Vlasis, sent a message of support to the Greek diaspora of Egypt.

He sent the warmest greetings on behalf of the Greek people in these difficult times.

Speaking to the Alexandrinos Tachydromos, the newspaper of the Greek Community of Alexandria, the deputy minister stated that the Diaspora Greeks had to face a double trial, as they were far from their hometown and their beloved ones.

Regarding the successful NOSTOS program agreed by Greece, Cyprus, and Egypt, Vlasis said that Greece hoped that the program would continue, noting, however, that this year’s design of the NOSTOS program will be adapted to the new situation, always safeguarding the public health, in accordance with the experts’ instructions.

The deputy minister pointed out that he was in regular contact with the Greek Ambassador to Egypt, Nikos Garilidis, and the two Consul Generals, Athanasios Kotsionis in Alexandria and Georgios Daskalopoulos in Cairo, stressing that he was ready to help Greek community in Egypt in any way possible.
