On Holy Saturday morning, the Vesper Service and the Divine Liturgy of Basil the Great were held, in a festive atmosphere, by Metropolitan Gabriel of Nea Ionia and Philadelphia at Saint Anargyroi Church, Nea Ionia.
Metropolian Gabriel, surrounded by clerics of the Holy Metropolis, sang “The Lord Awoke” arising the spiritual excitement of the faithful crowd.
In his sermon, Gabriel referred to the Resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is the core and the peak of our life and faith and a divine invitation to each of us separately, as it means the beginning of a whole new world and the new creation that God offers humanity.
