The tension between Metropolitan Epiphanius and “Ηonorable” Patriarch Filaret continues.
The latter, in a new letter to Metropolitan Epiphanius concerning the decree issued by him, expresses his sorrow, as he characteristically mentions to Metropolitan Epiphanius, because “you start your ministry as a Primate in violation of the bishop’s oath you have taken and the Orthodox Church Tradition, and in this way you are giving a bad example to the archpriests of Our Church.”
In the same tone he pointed out that such actions will not lead to the unity of the Church and all Ukrainian Orthodoxy, but to the destruction of the person who led to the granting of the Tomos of Autocephaly and your election as a Primate.”
